I work on the part of security that has feelings.
I’m part software developer, part storyteller, part privacy and security specialist and apparently the closest thing the security community has to Olivia Colman.

What I'm working on now
Cloned
In 2023 my team built a working clone of my face and voice as a surprise. They meant it kindly. When my company was sold, that clone was listed among the assets — and the company that bought it is the company I work for now.
I'm writing my way through what that taught me about consent, ownership, and what happens to a synthetic version of a person once everyone who authorised it has moved on. I'm doing it in public, while my current team builds the same capability for customers asking for it, because I'd rather think out loud than pretend it's settled.

Next Exit
In 2026, my company, SafeStack was acquired. I am writing about my journey from founding/growing a company to acquisition and all the things I wish someone had told me before I figured them out the hard way. To be honest, I’m doing this partly because therapy is expensive and partly as a way to share my lessons learned along the way,

Speaking
I talk about human risk, synthetic identity, and the uncomfortable parts of security that involve people rather than systems. I'm most useful to rooms that have to make a decision rather than admire a problem — security leaders, HR and legal partners, and boards. I also work with early stage companies and founders as a mentor, coach and sympathiser.

Books
I've written two — Agile Application Security and Security for Everyone.
Spoilers: Both argue the same thing from different ends: that security is a quality of good software rather than a discipline bolted to the side of it, and that the people best placed to build it in are usually the ones nobody invited.
